Our Origins
Butterfly Effect Productions was founded in 2022 to give ourselves a framework to produce the SheNYC Festival Production of The Waiting. Since then, this production company has been a lifeline for us as independent theater creators as we work to create the kind of musical theater we wish to see in the world.

Our work is rooted in social and political activism, designed to provoke thought, spark dialogue, and inspire action toward meaningful change. We are committed to amplifying the voices of women, queer individuals, and other underrepresented communities within the theatrical landscape.

We believe theatre is a powerful tool for empathy, healing, and transformation. Through our work, we aim to reimagine what musical theatre can be—centering queer joy, challenging oppressive systems, and inviting audiences into stories that reflect the complexity of our world.
By amplifying underrepresented voices and experimenting with new forms like VR and genre-blending scores, we strive to create bold, accessible art that doesn’t just reflect the future—we want to help build it.
